I build practical data tools and take on one-off projects for teams that need clarity from their data. No overhead, no middlemen. You work directly with the data scientist.
You pick the blogs and newsletters. Every Sunday, a clean digest of the past week's posts lands in your inbox. No ads, no tracking, no algorithm. Your reading list, compiled for you.
A 90-day operational guide for diagnosing and fixing the invisible problems that slow data teams down, one pillar at a time. Built for anyone who manages, leads, or depends on a data team. Includes a free health check.
Built for self-employed Canadians and freelancers. Estimate what you owe before you owe it. Free to use, no sign-up required.
Put real numbers to AI adoption decisions. Estimate the return on investment before committing to a tool, vendor, or internal build.
One-off analytical projects: exploratory data analysis, predictive models, recommendation systems, pricing models, and forecasting. You come with a question, I come back with an answer and the work behind it.
Getting data from where it is to where it needs to be, reliably and without manual effort. ETL builds, data integration across systems, and pipeline cleanup for teams whose data flow is held together with duct tape.
Most teams track the wrong things. I help define the metrics that actually reflect business health, then build the reporting systems to monitor them consistently, without the weekly manual export.
Send me a message with enough context to understand the project. I'll come back within two business days with an honest take on whether I can help and what that would look like.
Describe the project clearly: what the data looks like, what you need done, and what a good outcome means to you. The more context, the better.
I respond with questions or a proposal depending on how clear the brief is. Pricing is discussed at this stage.
Some projects start without one. Others benefit from a short call first. We decide together.
I'm Nazan Ozturk, the data scientist and strategist behind KI DataLab. With a background in industrial engineering, an MSc in data science, and a peer-reviewed publication to my name, I have spent 13 years working with data across six industries in professional environments.
I started KI DataLab because I kept seeing the same pattern: businesses sitting on valuable data, unsure what to do with it. My job is to close that gap, with rigorous analysis, practical tools, and communication that does not require a technical background to follow.
I work with a small number of clients at a time so every project gets my full attention. I also write regularly about data, analytics, and the tools I use, because after 13 years, this field still surprises me, and that is exactly why I stay in it.
